Brookings Day 3

Day 3 of our vacation was amazing.  First we stopped of at a scenic picnic area on the way to the Redwoods.

Such a beautiful day!

Then we went to see Corkscrew tree which is near Big Tree Wayside on the Newton B Drury parkway.

A few Redwoods have grown together in a twisted way and it's very cool.

It's just such a beautiful place.  And we love our big van for taking us on these fun road trips.
This picture shows the scale of the woods and trees.  It's amazing.
Then we headed down to Eureka to go to Sequoia Park Zoo.
The otter exhibit was great.  There was a glass tube the kids could crawl through that went through their water habitat.

The otters were so cute and playful.
The highlight of Sequoia Park Zoo is the Redwood Skywalk.  It's a sturdy wooden walkway high up in the redwood trees.
Standing on the walkway, it seemed to be about 30 feet or more down to the groud.

Such a beautiful place.

And our final favorite thing at the zoo was the red panda. The first couple times we went by its enclosure, it was asleep, but then it woke up and was eating and walking around the last time we walked by.  So cute.

Daniel got a red panda friend for a souvenir.  Joy got a really ugly possum stuffed animal, it was very funny, and fun all around.
Another lovely sunset at the end of another wonderful day.
