Getaway

After our difficult December, Mark and I decided to get away together for a couple days in January.  We originally planned to go to Utah, but on the way out of town we decided we'd rather go to the Oregon Coast.  As we drove, I made a reservation to stay in my favorite community on the Oregon Coast- Bella Beach.  We got a great price on short notice. Usually I wouldn't plan a drive to Oregon in the winter, due to the possibility of dangerous driving conditions, but the forecast was good that weekend, so we felt confident about going.

The house was oceanfront and the view from the back porch was spectacular.  We could hear the waves all night.  It was so cool.

Our trip was short, just Friday night to Sunday morning.  Mark's birthday was that Saturday and it was a perfect day.  It was so nice to just relax and spend time together in such a serene place.

It was forecasted to rain most of the trip, but there were several times when the sky cleared and it was gorgeous.  The sunset on that perfect Saturday was breathtaking.

The house was so cute (and it was bigger than it looked from the outside).  It needed some updating on the inside, but the perfect location made up for it.

We were sad to go home so soon, but we were treated to this amazing sunset at a scenic overlook in Oregon on the way home. It was a sweet ending to a perfect couple of days.  We felt that Heaven was definitely mindful of us.
